T-Shirt in a box with the word "Return"

Amazon Scam Alert

Let me tell you about a scam so dumb, so ridiculous, so unbelievably annoying that it almost deserves a slow clap.

Here's how it works:

Some clever little scammer goes on Amazon and orders one of our shirts. Which, by the way, is soft, premium, beautiful, made with love, and handcrafted by people who actually care (hi, that’s us!).

Here’s the twist... they also order a second shirt. A cheap one. Like, bargain bin at the dollar store level. Way cheaper than my actual high quality product.

Once both shirts arrive, they request a return on our shirt. Amazon says, “Sure thing, champ!”. They print the label, throw the really cheap crap shirt into the return package, send it back…and keep ours.

Boom. Free Nudge shirt.

Fast forward a few days. We open the return page and find some crusty t-shirt that feels like it was made from steel wool.

And Amazon? Well, they're like, “Looks like a shirt to us. Refund approved.”

What can we do?

Short answer.: Not much!

Amazon auto approves all of these scammers and we're stuck holding the bag. We could reach out to Amazon (and have in the past), but this is no easy task. In fact, it's incredibly difficult. It's easier and more cost effective to just accept it and move on.

To be fair, this doesn’t happen all the time. But it happens just enough to make you consider giving up, buying a food truck, and selling tacos instead.

So what’s the point of this blog?

Honestly? Mostly just to vent and to give a heads up to other entrepreneurs.

But also to say: if you’ve ever returned something honestly, thank you!! You're cool.
You're the unsung hero. The moral compass of the online retail world.

And if you're the guy returning our $30 shirt and sending back a crumpled tee that smells like beef jerky…you suck. At some point, your dishonesty will catch up to you.

Stay honest, friends!
